REGISTRATION INFORMATION

Pre-registration for the SSIRI 2008 is closed.
We will welcome on-site registration at the conference.

1. Registration Fee
-Submit the online registration form and complete the remittance of the registration fee by July 7, 2008(extended).

(Note)
1. Students who want to obtain the above student rate must send by fax or airmail proof of their status such as a photocopy of a valid student ID card or a letter from the dean, department head or research director with a signature.

3. Important Dates
- June 30, 2008 (Extended): Early Registration ends 5:00 pm Japan Standard Time.
- July 7, 2008(Extended): All payments must be received.
- July 7, 2008(Extended): Cancellation deadline; all cancellations MUST be in writing.

4. Confirmation Letters & Registration Cards
An automatic email confirmation will be sent to you if registering online.
Registration cards will be sent to registrants after confirming payment of registration fees.
All attendants are requested to print out the registration cards and bring them to the conference site to show at the registration desk.

5. Substitutions
Substitutions are not allowed.

6. Methods of Payment (Credit card is highly recommended for payment of registration fees.)
All prices are in Japanese Yen (JPY). Payments in other currencies will not be accepted.
Fees can be paid either by credit card or bank transfer. Please note that personal or company checks cannot be accepted.
Registration without payment will not be processed.
The Conference Secretariat will not be responsible for identifying funds transferred directly into the account when the name of the participant is not mentioned. Nor will the SSIRI2008 Registration Office accept charges of bank fees associated with the transfer.

Payments are accepted with the following cards; American express, JCB, Master Card, Visa, and Diners Club.
Regretfully, other credit cards cannot be accepted.

Please note that you are required to pay handling charges for bank transfer of the registration fee.
Also, a copy of a bank transfer form must be sent to the SSIRI2008 registration office immediately after submitting the online registration form. The copy confirms your remittance, just in case your payment is not confirmed by the Registration office.

7. Cancellations, Changes and Refund Procedures
Cancellations of the conference is allowed. However, cancellation charges, 5,000 JPY will apply for each cancellation.
Please note that no refunds will be made to regular paper authors.
Cancellation must be in writing or faxed. Full registration fees will be charged unless a cancellation notice is received in writing, or faxed on or before July 7, 2008 to:

In case of cancellations on or before July 1, 2008, a 5,000 JPY handling fee will apply to all cancelled registrations. Fees cannot be refunded for registrations cancelled after July 1, 2008, the cancellation deadline. No-shows will be billed. Changes in registration must be requested in writing as well. All refunds will be made after the conference.

8. Applicants for visa documentation
For the applicants who require visa documentation, registration should be done well in advance of the deadline.
Those wishing to apply for visas are required to complete registration and remittance.
Information on the visa form will be available when you submit the on-line registration form.
Upon receiving the above information and confirming the payment, the secretariat will prepare documents necessary for a visa application.
Please note that no documents for visas will be prepared for those who have not completed the payment of the required registration fees in full.
Due to the complex nature of visa requirements, please contact the Consular Section of the Embassy or Consulate General of Japan nearest you.

Visa letters will only be issued to:
  -Speakers/Presenters
  -Committee Members
  -Attendees who have paid their registration fee in full.
  -Applicants the organizer admits to contribute to the conference academically by their participation
Note: Please understand that the organizers will prepare visa documents only for Conference registrants. Visa letters will state only the following facts:
-Conference title, dates and location and purposes
